Roku Publishing on the Zype Platform

It is now even easier to publish a Roku Channel using the Zype Platform! To publish a Roku Channel on the Zype Platform, you will need to set up your Roku Channel and then choose how you want to publish your Roku Channel. You can either self-publish or have Zype publish for you.

Step 1:

Click on the Video Apps menu

Step 2:

Click the Roku Icon.

Step 3:

Set up your Roku Channel. You will need to select a Title, a Subtitle, a Channel Image, and a Channel Template. It is recommended that the Channel Image is 640 x 480 pixels with a transparent background. This image will be used throughout your Channel including the splash screen, top left logo, and the Channel Poster. The Channel Template will create themed image assets for your header color and your video description borders. The images that are created via the Channel Image and Channel Template can be changed in Advanced Settings. Click here to read more detailed instructions on how to set up your Roku Channel.

Step 4:

Once you set up your Roku Channel, the Zype robots need to compile all of the personalized images and code that is needed for building your Roku Channel. This process usually takes 5 to 10 minutes, so take a break and come back in a little!

Step 5:

Select your publishing option. You can either self-publish or you can have Zype publish your Channel for you. If you have Zype publish your Roku Channel for you, we will package, QA, and submit your Roku Channel. To self-publish, you will need to have a Roku device and be comfortable using your terminal on your computer in order to self-package your Channel. For detailed instructions on how to self-publish, click here.

And that's it! Typically, Roku takes 6-8 weeks to approve your Roku Channel into the Public Roku Channel Store. At times when Roku has a heavy volume of Channel submissions, it can take anywhere from 2-3 months to get your Roku Channel approved. If you would like a Roku Channel immediately, you can publish a Private Roku Channel that you can share to your users using a url.
