Sports audiences don’t wait. They want the moment right now — the goal, the buzzer beater, the record-breaking swing — and they expect it everywhere they consume content.
VSiN understood this reality. Their viewers were hungry for timely, context-rich insights, and their editorial teams understood the value of delivering more clips, faster, and across more platforms than ever before. The challenge was clear:
How do you scale real-time sports clipping and distribution?
To find the answer, VSiN began evaluating a series of next-generation clipping solutions. Each vendor brought promising capabilities, but VSiN needed more than basic clip creation. They required a full ecosystem approach — a workflow that was fast, automated, intelligent, and deeply integrated with their Zype streaming infrastructure.
From the outset, VSiN focused on a set of high-impact capabilities:
One by one, solutions were evaluated. Some offered strong AI capabilities but lacked reliable integrations. Others supported clipping but fell short on automated tagging or metadata alignment. No platform delivered the complete workflow out of the box.
That changed when VSiN advanced trials with an AI-driven clipping and automation solution able and willing to evolve alongside their needs.
Building the Workflow of the Future with Zype
Early tests demonstrated that the AI-driven clipping was fast, adaptable, and production-ready. What truly solidified VSiN’s confidence, however, was a shared commitment to collaboration — not just delivering a product, but shaping a workflow.
Teams from VSiN, Zype, and the clipping technology solution aligned on a critical enhancement:
Automatically align AI-created clips with Zype’s category structure.
This was essential. VSiN distributes clips across multiple destinations, and accurate metadata ensures every clip lands in the right place — instantly.
To support this, the clipping solution evolved to include:
The result?
A centralized source of truth for tag-to-category mapping, and a scalable way for VSiN to refine its metadata strategy without adding operational overhead.
Below are examples of Zype API endpoints that enable this type of solution integration, along with an overview of how content is ingested and distributed using Zype’s Feeds Marketplace.
List Categories API: This endpoint provides the core metadata taxonomy used for automated content curation across playlists, collections, and distribution feeds.
Video Import API: The Video Import API allows Zype to pull content directly into the Zype library from an external system.
While there are multiple ingestion options available, this workflow uses the Video Import method, which will be the focus of this example.
Once a Video Import request is queued, the returned _id can be used to retrieve the Video ID after ingestion is complete.
Note: The
video_idremainsnulluntil the import process finishes.
List Video Imports API: Once ingestion is complete, the video_id is populated and available for downstream API calls.
Customers can either poll this endpoint or leverage Zype Webhooks to receive ingestion completion notifications.
The Video ID can then be used to update metadata, assign categories, and attach related images.
Video Update API: The Video Update API is used to apply enriched metadata such as titles, descriptions, keywords, and category assignments.
At this stage, the AI clipping solution has fully analyzed the clip, mapped detected entities to Zype Category IDs, and generated confident metadata assignments.
Category IDs and names used in this step are sourced from the earlier List Categories API call.
Once metadata is in place, content can be distributed to owned-and-operated platforms or external partners & platforms using MRSS.
This is where Zype’s Feeds Marketplace plays a key role — automatically generating feeds based on category logic.
These feeds can syndicate:
All without requiring additional manual configuration.
Once the workflow went live, the impact was immediate.
This isn’t just automation. It’s acceleration.
As part of the initiative, VSiN expanded its FAST channel strategy with a new distribution partner. This evolution drove further improvements to the MRSS feeds generated by Zype, ensuring every VOD asset delivered to FAST channels included accurate structure, metadata, and contextual alignment.
It was another example of how VSiN’s commitment to innovation elevated the entire ecosystem.
The modern pipeline now looks like this:
This is the future of sports content operations — a single pipeline powering the entire ecosystem.
To support workflows like this, Zype continues expanding its integration ecosystem to support AI-driven clipping and automation solutions.
These integrations make it easier to:
This represents more than a feature — it reflects Zype’s commitment to enabling real-world customer success through flexible, solution-driven workflows.
VSiN set out to solve a simple but demanding challenge: deliver more sports related clips, faster, with greater accuracy, across more platforms.
By working closely with Zype and an AI-driven automation provider, the team built a scalable, intelligently automated workflow purpose-built for the pace of modern sports publishing.
As audiences in general continue to demand instant insights across FAST channels, apps, syndication partners, and social platforms, these pipelines have become essential infrastructure.
Through innovation, collaboration, and a shared vision with Zype, VSiN didn’t just solve the problem — they established a new industry benchmark for sports content velocity.
