Scaling Multilingual Media Distribution with Generative AI–Driven Transcription and Translation

Faith-Based Media & Global Broadcasting
Automate transcription and translation to scale multilingual video accessibility.
Zype Streaming Platform and Zype APIs & Metadata Tools
Amazing Facts is a global faith-based media ministry producing educational and inspirational video programming distributed across digital, OTT, FAST, and broadcast platforms.
Its content serves audiences worldwide, many of whom depend on translated and accessible formats to engage with long-form sermons, educational series, and live broadcasts.
To support this global distribution at scale, Amazing Facts uses Zype to manage video ingestion, metadata, publishing, and distribution. Zype’s built-in AI transcription and subtitle translation capabilities help make content more accessible across languages and regions without adding operational overhead.
Delivering Accessible, Multilingual Video Content at Scale
As Amazing Facts sought to expand its audience reach with native-language captions, it needed to deliver content faster across a growing set of languages, without expanding its editorial or production teams.
Key requirements included:
- Efficient transcription of long-form video content
- Translation of programming to support multilingual distribution
- Reduced reliance on manual transcription and localization processes
- Improved accessibility and content discovery across OTT apps, FAST channels, and owned-and-operated platforms
The challenge was to scale multilingual content delivery while preserving editorial quality and operational efficiency.

From a technical standpoint, Amazing Facts required a workflow that could embed transcription and translation directly into its existing video pipeline in a way that was:
- Automated and scalable
- Reliable for long-form and episodic content
- Metadata-aware to support publishing and discovery downstream
- Flexible enough to evolve without introducing manual rework
Transcription and translation outputs needed to integrate cleanly with Zype’s metadata model so content could be consistently published, categorized, and distributed across platforms.
An AI-Powered Transcription and Translation Workflow Built on Zype and AWS
Zype implemented an AI-powered transcription and subtitle translation workflow for Amazing Facts using its platform capabilities and API-driven publishing architecture, operating on cloud infrastructure.
Key solution components included:
- AI-Powered Transcription & Subtitle Translation: Zype automatically generates video transcripts and translated subtitle files, enabling multilingual accessibility without manual captioning or localization workflows.
- Metadata Integration: Transcripts and translated subtitles are associated with video assets and incorporated into Zype’s metadata framework, improving accessibility, searchability, and consistency across platforms.
- Automated Ingestion & Publishing: Video assets and associated subtitles are programmatically ingested and published across OTT apps, FAST channels, and digital destinations, minimizing manual intervention.
- Extensible AI Architecture: The workflow operates within an AWS-aligned cloud environment and is architected around Amazon Bedrock as the orchestration layer for media intelligence and generative AI. Spoken-word audio is transcribed using models tuned for speech recognition, after which transcripts are processed through Bedrock-managed foundation models. Amazon Nova models (Lite and Pro) are used for multilingual subtitle translation, high-quality metadata generation, summarization, and scene-aware content understanding of long-form video, leveraging their multimodal reasoning capabilities. In parallel, Amazon Titan embedding models are used for semantic indexing, retrieval, and discovery, enabling efficient search, recommendation, and contextual linking across content libraries. This deliberate Nova-for-generation and Titan-for-retrieval design allows Amazing Facts to evolve its AI capabilities over time while remaining fully native to Amazon Web Services.
Improved Accessibility, Faster Publishing, and Global Scale
The implementation delivered measurable improvements across accessibility, scale, and operational efficiency:
- Faster publishing cycles: Automated transcription and subtitle translation removed manual steps, shortening content turnaround times.
- Wider international reach: Multilingual subtitle support allowed Amazing Facts to serve global audiences without adding localization costs.
- Stronger accessibility and discovery: Transcripts and translated subtitles enhanced usability across platforms and supported deeper audience engagement.
- More efficient operations: Editorial and production teams expanded content accessibility without increasing headcount or complicating workflows.
As a result, Amazing Facts uses generative AI–based transcription and translation as part of its video workflows, demonstrating a practical, production-ready application of AI to support media accessibility and multilingual distribution on AWS.
